Dunun Workshops

Dunun (Sangban, Kenkeni, and Dununba) are the melodic bass drums of the Mandingue drumming orchestra. These drums are traditionally played with a stick in one hand, striking the skin in and a metal striker in the other hand playing a bell. We’ll cover three dunun parts and accompanying bell parts for a traditional West African rhythm.
